Congrats to Julie, the winner of some Butik76 designer oilcloth! It’s been giveaway-palooza here since the end of September and today we’re wrapping it all up with a great book I know you guys will appreciate.
Highlighting the best of each month of the year, Make and Takes for Kids offers 50 projects to make with kids, each centered around an upcoming holiday or season. It’s being put out by Wiley Crafts, the home of an innovative line of craft books for every level of crafter (see their crafts page here). The book was written by my blogging pal Marie LeBaron of the mega-popular make and takes blog and is a great resource to have on hand for inspiration.
Marie has a background in early childhood education and it shows. One of my favorite features of the book is that it outlines the learning objectives and skills that children will attain as they complete each activity.
I also love how the projects are arranged by month so you can work your way through it all year long with timely activities like these pine cone bird feeders…
…and these snowman smoothies. Each project also requires little preparation, few supplies, and almost everything can be readily found at home or at a local craft supply store.
It’s an ideal holiday gift for parents, grandparents, teachers and anyone else in need of a whole heap of easy and stimulating activities to do with kids.
Marie is generously offering up a free copy of Make and Takes for Kids to one lucky reader. For a chance to win, simply leave a comment below ALONG WITH AN EMAIL ADDRESS. For a bonus entry facebook or tweet about this giveaway and let me know with a comment below.
YOU MUST LEAVE A SEPARATE COMMENT FOR EACH OF THE 3 POSSIBLE ENTRY METHODS. This contest is open to U.S. residents only and will end at midnight EST on Tuesday December 20th, 2011. Good luck!
