Looking for a simple way to commemorate Veteran’s Day with the kids? I love this flag project from For the Love of Art. It’s an easy open-ended project that reminds me of something the Novogratz crew would hang loud and proud on a wall.
And if you really want to go the extra mile, check out Operation Miles – a wonderful collaboration between The Frequent Flyer Father and Fisher House. Together they are encouraging and collecting Airline Miles for:
- Service members with approved leave for five or more days to visit home to unite with their families
- Hospitalized Men or Women serving in the US Army, Navy, Air-force or Department of Veteran Affairs to visit home and return.
- Families and close friends of service members to be at the bedside of loved ones.
My last year of grad school was spent at a full-time clinical externship in the VA system. It was such a rewarding experience being able to give back, in a small way, to those who have given so much. Please don’t forget to honor our veterans today in your own way, be it big or small.

What a great idea Operation Miles is. I saw that Ali the Bachelorette is also advocating for them. Love it!
I LOVE THE ADVENT CALENDER! It reminds me of d=being little and eating those stale cheap chocolates out of the cardboard ones. This one is way cuter though
