Adding a Little Science to Playtime

I’m over at momtastic today posting ideas on how to inject a little science into your summertime fun.

Speaking of summer, I have two announcements to make:
  1. You may recall that I recently posted about Melissa & Doug’s trunki on my facebook wall and added it to MPMK’s favorite things for traveling.  Well, guess what, just in time for your summer travels – select models of the Melissa & Doug Trunki are currently 40% off at Amazon.
  2. Since I live in Seattle I feel like I have to take FULL advantage of the sun while it’s here.  So I’ve decided that, at least for now, I’ll be reserving one day a week for momtastic posts as well as a mini version of the weekend look book (but no original post here).
I often find myself cutting good stuff from my end-of-the-week round up so I’m hoping that this will be a nice way to give me a small break without leaving you all in the lurch.  Click through and let me know what you think of the plan. (Although if you hope to convince me to keep writing here on the days I post on momtastic, you probably shouldn’t bother – I’ve got a standing play date with my kids at the park!)

As with the Weekend Look Book, click on the pics for details.

As a momma jumping into homeschooling with both feet, I cannot tell you how blessed I am to have found your site. Thank you a billion times over for banishing any self-doubt that I CAN be a fun and effective teacher to my three boys (4, 2, and 5 months). The natural connections that are made when learning through play are vital, and I’m thrilled to be able to use your activities as our springboard into learning. Thanks so much!!!
