Fresh Finds: Not Your Standard Dollhouses

photo via mycakies Etsy shop

I didn’t think I’d ever find a dollhouse as special as this suitcase version I featured a few weeks ago.  Then I spied these Giant Dollhouse Pillows from Cakies.  Can you imagine the reactions your little girl would get if she showed up to a sleepover packing one of these babies?  Read on for the details (trust me, you’ll be amazed) as well as another clever dollhouse creation.

Rubyellen lovingly created the first pillow dollhouse for her daughter’s birthday and now, lucky for us, she sells them at her Etsy shop.  They are definitely a splurge but the craftsmanship more than justifies the price.  Above is a picture of the inside of the house.  Those little curtains are killing me they’re so sweet.  And speaking of sweet…

Little Brave loved her pillow so much that she immediately made it her new bed – how freaking cute is that?!  You’re gonna want to stop by the Cakies shop to scope out a pillow for yourself but don’t forget to also visit her blog to read more about Brave’s birthday surprise.

And for one more upcycled-dual-duty-type dollhouse, check out this nifty drawer dollhouse tutorial at nicegirlnotes.  As Roo over there points out, this two-sided dollhouse is just perfect for sharing with a friend.
